Inclement Weather and Emergency Closings
We would like to inform the public of the process and methods Peaster ISD will disseminate information regarding possible school closings.
In the event of severely inclement weather or mechanical breakdown, school may be closed or starting times delayed. The same conditions may also necessitate early dismissal. School closings or late start determinations due to inclement weather will generally occur before morning bus routes begin.
To ensure everyone is informed as expeditiously as possible, the following television and radio stations will be contacted for publication:
WBAP 820 AM, KYQX 89.5 FM, KFWR 95.9 FM, and Channel 5, KXAS.
Reports in the morning will be between 6:30 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. If no report is heard, it can be assumed that school will be in session. Please do not call the school. Telephone lines must be kept open for outgoing emergency calls.
Information will also be posted on this Peaster ISD website. The website will be continuously updated to keep parents and community members informed of school closing status.
Decisions to alter the school schedule will be made based on the ability of Peaster ISD to safely transport students to and from school. Any decisions made will be based on the most accurate information at hand.
