Library Parent Access
Peaster ISD uses Follett Destiny as our library management system. This platform allows parents to actively participate in their child's literary choices through a dedicated parent access portal. By logging in with the email address registered with the district, parents can access information about their child's library activities.
To access the portal, parents should:
- Visit Library Parent Access.
- Enter the email address used during their child's school registration.
- Receive and enter a six-digit code emailed immediately upon request.
Within the portal, parents can view their child’s current and past library activities. The interface provides a drop-down menu for families with multiple children, allowing for individual access to each child’s library records.
While district staff may assist in the selection of library materials, the final determination of what is appropriate for each child remains with the parents/guardians. To support this, the library parent access includes features to:
- Search for books by title or subject.
- Block specific books, preventing children from checking them out.
If a student attempts to check out a book that has been blocked, the system will notify the library staff member immediately during the scanning process.
Parents and guardians are invited to discuss any specific preferences or concerns regarding their child's library material selections with campus library staff members or their child’s teachers through scheduled appointments or during parent-teacher conferences. This collaboration is essential in fostering an environment conducive to educational growth and respecting family values.
Peaster ISD is excited to offer these enhanced features to our parents and guardians, ensuring they have the necessary tools to guide their children's reading and educational journey effectively.
