School Closings
Inclement Weather and Emergency Closings Our top priority is the safety of both our students and staff! In the event of severely inclement weather or mechanical breakdown, school may be closed or starting times delayed. The same conditions may also necessitate early dismissal. School closings or late start determinations due to inclement weather will generally occur before morning bus routes begin.
To ensure everyone is informed as expeditiously as possible, the following television and radio stations will be contacted for publication:
KYQX 89.5 FM, KFWR 95.9 FM, Channel 4, Fox4, Channel 5, KXAS, Channel 8, WFAA, and Channel 11, KVTV.
Our parent notification system is now PARENTSQUARE and this will either be a phone call, text, and/or email. If no report is received, it can be assumed that school will be in session. Please do not call the school. Telephone lines must be kept open for outgoing emergency calls. We will post to our social media accounts as time permits, but those are not our first line of communication to our parents and community. Decisions to alter the school schedule will be made based on the ability of Peaster ISD to safely transport students to and from school. Any decisions made will be based on the most accurate information at hand. As always, our top priority is safety! We appreciate your understanding and support as we make these crucial decisions.
